Here are some pretty cool things you can apply in your life RIGHT NOW, that will make a radical difference to your health and well being.
DON’T : HAVE LUNCH ON THE GO
DO : GO HOME MADE
Watered down soup, soggy sandwiches and tasteless meal deals do nothing to add to your energy levels. If anything, they leaving you feeling drained – and that’s not just your bank account either. Yes, it will take a little more effort on your part, but home-made packed lunches, cleverly crafted leftovers and simple, nutritious salads are definitely the way forward for your lunch hour- and you get more time to enjoy your mealsbecause you no longer have to stand in the queues.
DON’T : READ NEWSPAPERS
DO : CREATE YOUR OWN HEADLINES
If you do feel the need to keep up with the world, spend some time eavesdropping on other people’s conversations, or rather, read the papers once a week. Media is designed and created to stir up emotion, and reading things like this every single day does have a negative effect on your body, and ultimately, your health. If a headline is important enough, you will definitely find out. Rather create your own headlines, ones that inspire you and encourage you.
DON’T : JUST TAKE
DO : PAY IT FORWARD
Instead of waiting for that “big break” or the “miracle”, find a way to share your services with people, either through contributing time and/or resources to a charity close to your heart. Hold the door open for people, just because you can or offer your seat to someone on the tube or bus who looks like they may have had a tough day. And smile – sometimes, a smile does so much more than a few words to someone in need. Big changes start with little actions, and when you start paying forward the little things, you create awareness for the things being paid forward to you.
DON’T : TRY TO BE COOL
DO : BE THE ORIGINAL YOU
Probably the coolest thing that you could ever do in life is to just be you – being comfortable in your very own skin. If you try too hard to be something that you are not, no matter what you do, it just won’t work. You are the only version of you, so why not do it the best way that the expert knows how – YOU ! Who gives a rat’s arse anyway, all the others will be far too busy worrying about what everyone else thinks of them anyway. And a funny thing happens too – when you are being you, you realize how much value and worth you add to other people’s lives just by being. Following on from the previous point, the quietest person shouts the loudest and has the most impact – simply because they let their actions, and way of life, define who they are. DO : FIND BALANCE
So often, we let the stresses and pressures of life get in the way of really enjoying the time we have with the people we love. Jobs, money, careers, businesses – they all begin to consume a HUGE amount of your time when you fail to define clear boundaries for yourself. Stress is a silent killer, and goes about its business very quietly, until sometimes it is too late and everything crashes down. DO : DRINK IN MODERATION
It is Friday night, the end of a long week. You went out for a few drinks, ended up having a few more than that. Now it is Saturday afternoon and you are still feeling lousy. Every now and then, it is great to let your hair down and even we do it. However, from past experiences, there is a difference between enjoying a few drinks with friends and getting to the point where you regret it the next day. Sometimes we realize when it is a little too late that things are out of hand. We all know the effect that alcohol has on our bodies so that is not what this is about but here are a few quick questions you can ask yourself: – Am I drinking for the sake of drinking? Am I drinking to avoid dealing with any uncomfortable situation in my life right now? If my teenage child was drinking like I do, would I be concerned?
DON’T : BE APATHETIC
DO : BE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT YOU LOVE
Have you ever tried to hold a decent conversation with someone who is not really interested in anything? It can be almost as boring as watching paint dry. If you enjoy something, read about, learn about it, find out random facts about it. Nothing is more infectious than passion – just make sure you know your facts.
DON’T : WRITE A BOOK
DO : START YOUR OWN YOU TUBE CHANNEL
So, now you have found something that you are passionate about, instead of writing a book this year, why not create your very own You Tube Channel to share your views with the world. It’s free. Many people have access to it. And it’s a really great way to stretch yourself on so many levels. But more than that, just have fun with it. We would like to think that if Oprah were starting out today, she would definitely have a very strong You Tube presence. And this is not to stop you from writing and sharing your message with the world either, just something to do on top if you like?
DON’T : TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT
DO : WALK OR CYCLE
Even if you don’t walk the whole way, take part of your journey on foot. A minimum of 15 to 20 minutes of cardio exercise is all that is regularly required in order to keep your heart beating at an optimum rate and boosting your metabolism and immune system. Find out who works near to you and walk together.
DON’T : BE MEAN
DO : BE RESPECTFUL
So often, we want to make comments, get our point across or say things about others behind their backs. Imagine every word you said was heard by every person you said it about, regardless of what is was that you say. Speak to others as you would like yourself to be spoken about, regardless of what other people tell you has been said about you.

So often, we create our plans and goals based on memories collected from the past that we either want more of, or that we no longer wish to have in our lives. A diamond does not display itself based on the memories of being a tree or coal – it displays itself knowing that it is something it has never been before. In order to have things we have not had before, we need to do things we have not done before. If 2012 is going to be the last year of the world, then make sure that this is the year that YOU do things differently.

Always interested in learning something new each day, I picked it up and flicked through the pages. On doing so, I came across a pretty interesting article – what it was exactly, I can’t recall.
